FMS Mission Planning System Support Facility (MPSSF) Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for exercising independent judgment and discretion on matters of significance related to the development/test/fielding/sustainment activities for PFPS and JMPS on assigned aircraft programs, particularly FMS platforms.
Work Scope (Duties & Responsibilities):
Works with Country Managers, Test Community and Developers to ensure that hardware and software procured for foreign customers meets their operational needs and is sustainable.
Supports country managers with analysis and recommendations to meet country specific mission planning needs.
Develop training materials to support in-country instruction on mission planning systems.
Travel to foreign countries and provide required equipment setup and configuration.
Travel to foreign countries and perform classroom instruction in the use of Mission Planning Systems software such as the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS), Portable Flight Planning Software (PFPS) and associated software accessory modules.
Provide technical and help desk support to international customers.
Assist with maintenance of web sites supporting FMS cases on Mission Planning Central.
Travels to and attends meetings, as required, to support FMS cases.

Required Education, Training, and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree
CompTIA Security
Security Clearance Required:
Secret Clearance within 5 years of expiration.
Minimum of five years operational experience with DoD aircraft weapon systems as a Pilot, Co-pilot or Navigator or three years experience as a SME. Experience with navigation and mission planning techniques including preparation and check out of flight plans for the weapon systems identified, preparation and use of flight planning, preparation and use of refueling planning, and mission planning knowledge for planning in hostile threat environments. Foreign Military Sales (FMS) experience preferred.
Five years mission planning experience with automated mission planning systems in an operational environment, to plan missions in hostile threat environments.
Experience in building, configuring and networking personal computer systems using Microsoft Windows operating systems
A sound knowledge of all mission-planning software is required for telephone support of all software users.
In-depth knowledge of the DoD's organizational structures, intelligence structures, functions and procedures, command relationships and responsibilities.
Knowledge, skills & abilities required:
Thorough understanding of the USAF and DoD web site certification and accreditation process
Individuals must exhibit excellent communication, briefing and organizational skills.
Will be required to brief government and assist them with evaluating courses of action
Must have demonstrated ability to work independently, on tight schedules, and still provide high quality work
Must be able to lead others in the accomplishment of assigned tasks
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Essential Functions for Position
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require filing, typing, and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, included but not limited to: bending, reaching, turning and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required.
Work Environment
Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting). Outside work may include various environmental conditions including warm and cold climates. Needs to be able to work well with co-workers, customer, and all levels of management. No hazards on job or unusual environmental conditions. Work site is located at Hill AFB, UT.
Equipment and Machines
Ability to operate office equipment such as a personal computer, printer, copy machine, telephone, fax machine and other equipment including desk supplies and other work related tools as required.
Attendance
Regular hours will be between Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important, but not critical, except for deadlines and meetings. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements. Position may require occasional weekend or evening work depending on task requirements.
Other Essential Functions
Government security clearance is required, and ranges from a Secret, with IT-1 eligibility up to a Top Secret SCI with IT-2 eligibility, depending on the position. Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to office or work site is required. Travel to and from customer's locations and the test fields may be required to support projects. This may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can possibly be made for POV, if necessary. When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion.
