SalarySUMMARY
As a service advisor at Planet Subaru, you are the key point of contact for customers bringing a car in for service. You will greet them, write up the repair order, and recommend services. You will stay in touch with them through the day to let them know about the progress and also to request permission to do any additional work that the technician discovers. The day is busy and moves quickly. The two most important qualities to have are friendliness and organizational skills. For example, if the car takes longer to complete than originally predicted, most customers are okay with that as long as you're nice about it and you call ahead of time so they don't show up and find out that they have to sit around and wait. You need to be able to deal with the occasional grumpy customer who isn't polite or reasonable. We have four service advisors, and the official title is "Assistant Service Manager" because we give you authority to resolve many circumstances on your own.
SCHEDULE
The typical schedule is full time, approximately 45 hours per week over four days a week, so you get three days off every week. You'll work three week days, and alternate Saturdays with another weekday. Here is a sample schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 8am to 7pm. Off Friday. Some weeks would be Wednesday 8am to 7pm and others would be Saturday 8am to 5pm.
SALARY AND BONUS
Compensation is a combination of reliable weekly pay plus bonuses.
EXPERIENCE
Prior automotive or dealership experience is not required, but is helpful. The more you know about dealerships and vehicles, and the more passion you have for them, the less training you will require. But we will train the right person.

The ideal candidate likes cars, is friendly, eager to learn new things, likes to be busy, has an upbeat attitude about life, can handle the occasional grumpy customer, enjoys the pleasure of delighting customers, is smart, professional, and polished. We are looking for those who see a career in our business, not just a job until something else comes along. You need a good driving record because you will be driving company and customer vehicles around the lot, and occasionally on the roads. If you like providing good customer service, you'll enjoy this job a lot.
