Stx Farm Mechanic

Perform major repairs and maintenance for all fleet farm equipment and vehicles.
Responsibilities:

• Repair electronic and computer ignition systems (computer ignition systems) not required but willing to learn
• Repair carburetor and fuel injection systems.
• Repair air conditioning systems.
• Repair drive trains and hydraulic systems.
• Perform repairs of gas and diesel engines.
• Repair electrical systems.
• Perform welding repairs as needed
• Competency in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding torches, welders and general shop equipment.
• Operation of equipment and vehicles for test purposes.
• Followed required safety procedures.
• Keep work area and equipment clean.
• Work a ten (10) hour shift, five to seven days per week with extended hours as necessary.
• Transport parts to shop and/or field.
• Perform all safety requirements identified in the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) sheets.
• Attend and participate in company safety programs.
• Assist in training new employees.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

• Requires experience as a mechanic and willing to learn in a team environment. 

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:

• Requires valid driver's license. (TX)
• Requires ability to understand oral and written instructions with ability to convey ideas and information relating to assigned tasks. 
• Requires successful completion of a company drug screening. 
• Requires ability to properly handle and manage fuels, lubricants, solvents cleaners, paints, oils and various other products located in the shop. 
• Requires ability to follow directions from a supervisor. 
• Requires ability to interact effectively with co-workers. 
• Requires ability to understand and comply with posted work rules. 
• Requires ability to accept constructive criticism.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS (Lifting, Bending, Stretching, etc.)

• Requires ability to stand and walk for long periods of time and performance of repetitive bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, grasping, squeezing, pushing, and pulling. 
• Requires moving materials weighing up to fifty (50) pounds. 
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at various heights. 
• Requires ability to withstand seasonal temperature changes and windy conditions. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work requires exposure to all temperature and weather extremes, loud noises, moving equipment, wetness, dust, and fumes.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Must be a team player who is willing to cooperate with others.

Must be able to accept corrective criticism from supervisor.

Must be willing to take on a variety of assignments as assigned by management on an as-needed basis within the department and within other areas of King Ranch if necessary.
