Study Abroad Graduate Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Interact with several campus offices, faculty members, and Study Abroad students.
- Assist in processing Study Abroad applications and the development of Study Abroad resources for campus use.This involves using several software programs including, but not limited to, Banner and TerraDotta.
- Guide prospective Study Abroad students in identifying suitable Study Abroad programs and to navigate the application and pre-departure process.
- Help coordinate several events throughout the year such as Study Abroad info sessions, advising sessions, pre-departure orientations, and cultural events.
- Represent the OIP at University meetings, workshops, admissions events, and other related activities. Some of these activities may occasionally occur on weekends or evenings (example: Open House and Pirate Preview).
- Be involved in a wide variety of office duties including contacting students regarding application materials, answering the phone and emails, greeting students, holding appointments, updating the Study Abroad website, etc.
- Produce documents, tables, chart, and reports for OIP as needed using Microsoft Office and university applications.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

- Must be Admitted to a Seton Hall graduate program before applying to this position.
- At least two years of administrative or office experience, coordinating and collaborating on projects.
- Demonstrates passion for Study Abroad and its impact to positively transform lives.
- Candidate must be a well-organized self-starter, and well-adapted to a high-volume and fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to professionally interact with students, parents, faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Strong skills of self-discipline, self-management, and ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

Desired Qualifications:

- Knowledge and personal experience with Study Abroad processes and programs.Training will be provided.
- Experience hosting on-campus events and programming for Seton Hall students.
- First year graduate students are preferred.
