Studio Editor- Whiteout Photographer

Portland Leather is currently seeking a full-time Studio Editor / Whiteout Photographer to help our creative team execute a range of new promotions with our quickly expanding company!

Our team is a fun, flexible, and hard-working group of people dedicated to providing our customers with high quality products at prices that make people feel great. We are currently building and running two sister companies out of our SE Portland location, and are looking for more driven individuals to add to our already successful teams. We laugh a lot and listen to good music while being highly productive in our sun-filled workshop! 

The older sister company, Portland Leather Goods, has been doubling in size consistently each year since 2016. Our products are classic designs with creative spins, made from the best leather available, and the opposite of fast fashion! The enormous success of Portland Leather Goods spurred our younger sister company, Patina Lifestyle, to launch in June of 2022. We launched Patina with a small, carefully crafted line of leather shoes, and are looking to rapidly expand our offerings with jewelry, apparel, tech, and homegoods in 2023!

Portland Leather is looking for an in-house photography assistant that can learn our company and make our products, company culture and lifestyle come alive with fun beautiful photos. This position works alongside our team and reports directly to the Photography Director. You will also work with our Marketing Team, Social Media Lead, and Graphic Artist.

We hope you have your own career or are developing your own career. We are 100% in support of you taking other gigs and doing exciting projects on the side.

The reason we need you working IN-HOUSE is it takes time to learn the in's and out's of what we do... and because leather sourcing is always changing we may be updating our products weekly. And we are getting bigger and better! And we need those amazing candid photos of our company growth and our amazing people.

Required Skills

• General Photography: 3 years (Required)

• Product photography: 2 years (Required)

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Photography Director and our marketing team to produce high-quality photographic images
• Digital cameras and lighting
• Take professional pictures in a studio or on location

• Use different techniques to enhance the photographs as required

• Willingness to travel up to 20%

• Carry and set up of equipment, wardrobe, and product

• Use photo manipulation software such as Adobe Suite to get desired results
  

• Recommend creative ideas to exceed expectations of goals and objectives

• Use artistic knowledge to enhance and compose sets

• Review sets of photographs and select the best results
