As a Student Trainee (Human Resources Administration), some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Assisting the entry-level recruiting and staffing team members to develop strong relationships at colleges and universities that provide a quality applicant pool.
  • Working with managers throughout the Commission to ensure the success of the summer internship program.
  • Plan and execute events for the summer internship program.
  • Providing administrative support on FERC's entry-level recruitment program events and coordinating workshops for FERC's summer internship program.
  • Working with Microsoft Suites (such as Excel and PowerPoint), and Social Media Platforms
  • Conduct presentations to medium to large crowds.

You must meet all eligibility and qualification (experience and/or education) requirements by the end of spring 2024 semester.
Qualifications
Eligibility: In order to be eligible for our Pathways Internship Program, you must:
  • MUST be in a Graduate level Masters or Doctorate Program that continues through Fall 2024.
  • Be accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a degree or certificate in a qualifying educational institution on a half- to full-time basis (as determined by the educational institution); AND
  • Meet the definition of a student throughout the duration of your appointment; AND
  • Meet the qualification standards (e.g., series and grade).

Any student would be required to report physically to the DC area, with eligibility to telework. This position is also eligible to continue into the Fall Semester and would be ideal for students in the local DC area.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including any volunteer experience.
