Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Assistant for the department of Psychiatry at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The Department of Psychiatry RWJMS (Busch Campus) is seeking qualified candidates for undergraduate Research Assistant positions. This position would be ideal for rising Sophomores and Juniors seeking to pursue a career in medicine or biomedical research. The ideal candidate would be interested in continuing to broaden their research experience. Opportunities are for part-time research experience during the academic year and/or full-time positions in the summer. We are seeking detail oriented and highly motivated individual who can, with training, independently follow and conduct clinical and/or laboratory based research protocols.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

- Assists with human research subject recruitment and/or pre-protocol preparatory procedures.
- Assists with data collection and/or data development for research studies.
- Accurately record all data and experiments in a lab notebook and/or in data sheets. Assists with maintaining study records and databases.
- Monitors and communicates with study team to ensure research protocol compliance.
- Assists with preparation of materials for institutional review board submissions.

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to receive an updated (bivalent) vaccine dose. Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply. Prospective employees should speak with their hiring manager to determine which policies apply to the role or position for which they are applying.
