Position Summary:

The Student Ministries Director shall provide oversight to the three sectors of Rock Church’s Student Ministries, Middle School, High School and College Aged adults. This position will give direction and minister to these students and their families. The Pastor is responsible for developing the vision and direction of the Student Ministry. The Student Ministries Director should be committed to the Lord Jesus, the Rock, his own spiritual growth and his character should be evident. This position reports to the Campus Pastor.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the leadership and direction of the entire Student Ministry
  • Responsible for creating and implementing a student ministry model that will reach, develop and maintain hundreds within the ministry
  • Responsible for recruitment, training, discipleship and mobilization of adult volunteer leaders
  • Provide general oversight for the spiritual, emotional and relational development of the students and their respective families
  • Ensures all Student Sunday and Midweek Student services run smoothly and the gospel is clearly communicated
  • Maintains and grows a network of student community groups in homes led by adult volunteers
  • Organizes off site outreach events that effectively reach the community
  • Ensures all ministry numbers are accurately tracked and reported
  • Responsible for the upkeep of all financial and legal requirements of the ministry
  • Leads in program design and implementation
  • Administers basic level counseling to Students and families
  • Maintains website and follows Comm department procedures to ensure all Student ministry and event information is current and communicated to staff and congregation
  • Plan and organize camps and retreats
  • Seek out mission’s opportunities to encourage student participation
  • Develop and implement global Student strategies in collaboration with other campuses
  • Help organize, implement and run Student camps
  • Coordinate with multisite Student Ministry departments to implement new strategies, curriculum, and or changes
  • Meet regularly with the Rock Academy MS/HS principal to collaborate on Student Ministries and create a bridge between the school & Student ministry
  • Create & maintain connections with local MS & HS to foster community involvement between the Rock Student Ministry and the local schools
  • Work directly with the Campus Pastor to coordinate calendars, curriculum and implement overall Family Ministry vision

Education, Training, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or divinity degree preferred, but not required.

  • Follow verbal and written instructions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office for MAC (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • Well-developed motivational skill set and demonstrated servant leadership qualities

  • High standard of personal holiness. Life must be a good example for youth to follow. Operates above reproach at all times
  • If married, has an unwavering love for his/her spouse, demonstrated by their speech and actions. Spouse should be supportive of their calling and the ministry. Both should be growing spiritually.
  • Teachable and approachable, one who listens well before speaking, and is loyal to the Rock Church


Organizational and Spiritual Requirements:

  • Demonstrate Christ-centered behavior at all times by treating people with dignity, respect, compassion and integrity.
  • Utilize the principles of Matthew 18 and Ephesians 4:15 to resolve differences of opinion with others.
  • Successful completion of a thorough pre-employment references and background checks, which includes: social security verification, Local, State & Federal criminal conviction records search, national security database, and sex offender registry.
  • Attendance at all mandatory meetings and events. This includes serving at Good Friday, Easter and Christmas services as well as the annual volunteer appreciation event.
  • Member of the Rock Church (or willing to transfer membership to the Rock Church).
  • Regular involvement in Rock Church activities, ministries and events.
  • Signed acknowledgment of the Rock’s Statement of Faith.
  • Ability to interpret and adhere to the Rock’s policies, procedures and employee handbook.
  • Be self-motivated and goal oriented, use good judgment, and be flexible and innovative.
  • Professional attitude and demeanor.


Physical Requirements:
