The Student Medical Assistant Apprentice (SMAAP) serves as a member of the healthcare team at Novant Health. They establish an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system. They observe and collaborate with a Register Nurse/APP/Physician; to coordinate, plan, and implement an individualized plan of care for patients to promote optimal care by providing the highest quality/ cost-effective care for patients seen at the practice. The Student Medical Assistance Apprentice will aid patients, document tasks, and maintain a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse/certified medical assistant.

Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Vocational / Technical, required. Currently enrolled and in good standing with an approved CMA program, required.
- Licensure/Certification: Enrolled in an approved medical assistant program, required.
- Additional Skills Preferred: Basic Computer skills for documentation.
