Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer Intern position assists in the preparation of engineering and design documents under direct supervision. Applies basic knowledge of engineering and construction materials related to engineering evaluation and design in collaboration with other engineers or project managers. Works with engineering teams to assist in the evaluation or design of various project aspects.
- Passed or working towards passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
- Working towards completing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum.
- Ability to obtain U.S. military base access through completion of a comprehensive background check.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Team player, willing to assist others.
- Ability to form strong relationships with teammates.
- Effective time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to methodically perform and document engineering calculations.
- Working towards developing strong technical writing abilities.
Physical Requirements
- Work predominantly in an office environment. Occasional outside work in various conditions.
- See, hear and communicate with others in varying conditions using various methods.
- Lift or move up to 50 lbs.
- Sit or stand for sustained period.
- Ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.
- Walk, stand, crouch on uneven surfaces.
