What does a summer intern at CNB do?
As the only local, full-service, community-owned financial institution in the Rochester area, Canandaigua National Bank & Trust is investing in you. Our interns experience firsthand what it is like working in the world of financial services. As a summer intern you will work side by side with our team to provide individuals, businesses, municipalities, and not-for-profit organizations access to all the financial services they will ever need. Interns will act as a member of the team for the summer, assisting the department help achieve the bank’s goal – of ensuring our community thrives and grows.
Throughout the summer, intern will have an opportunity to connect with each other, shadow within a branch, network with different departments, and enjoy social events. The summer will culminate in presentation to their managers and the Executive Team.
This position is a paid internship/co-op for Summer 2024. Program begins Tuesday, May 28th, 2024.
Salesforce Administrator Intern
We are looking for a Salesforce Intern to join and expand the team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the employees of the bank that utilize the Salesforce platform. You will learn about the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) Software through the setup of new users and troubleshooting any errors that users may receive. Additionally, you may find yourself merging or deleting records, importing or exporting data through a multitude of ways.
In this role, you will:
Assist with Authority Access Requests where you will provide Salesforce Access to new or existing employees.
Keep our Salesforce Org neat by merging/deleting duplicate Salesforce records or customer relationships in the system.
Work on troubleshooting skills by connecting with internal employees to determine solutions to issues they may experience in Salesforce throughout the day.
Import and export data from Salesforce using data loader tools, SOQL query language, and Excel.
The purpose of the Information Technology Internship Program is to offer students an opportunity to learn real work experience, while bringing new ideas and skillsets to CNB to help achieve our strategic goals. CNB values our employees, and we are looking for talented individuals with the desire to learn and apply their skills to a wide variety of technologies used in Financial Services.
The program is designed for current students enrolled in an associate, bachelor’s or master’s degree program in a technology discipline.

What would our ideal candidate look like?
Communication
You’re going to be talking and typing and chatting with people all over the bank. From executives to tellers. Helping them out with simple issues and complex problems. Your job will be to figure out what the problem is and where to go next. You will have to follow up and continue communication until the issue is solved in some way, shape or form.
Abstract Thinking
More complex issues and projects will require you to ask questions and get answers to things that are not cut and dry. You will have to first help define the problem or goal. To do that you will be required to ask a lot of questions and listen carefully to pull out requirements that are not always presented up front.
Technically Adept
Do you quickly learn and adapt to new technology? Can you open up a new application and figure out how it works? Salesforce is a broad and deep platform that will require you to do self-driven research to figure out possibilities and configuration options and platform limits.
Excel/Typing Skills/Database/Relational Database
Spreadsheets are used to collect and collate information that either must be imported/exported or used to define sets of work. You’ll be working with lots of data and configuring database elements.
Schedule: M-F 8:30a.m. – 5 p.m., with flexibly depending on needs.

Compensation - $18 per hour
The actual salary offered within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, level offered, and performance expectations.
