Job DescriptionUnder the supervision of the Digital Imaging Coordinator, student will participate in internal digitization projects, which includes the use of digital cameras, flatbed scanners, and planetary scanners. Student will also create metadata and conduct quality assurance on digital images. Student may be called upon to assist other library staff with additional creation of digital resources. Student must be able to pay attention to detail, learn new technologies quickly, and be able to work independently once they have been given a task, asking questions as needed.
Required Qualifications
Current KU student enrolled in 6 or more credit hours.Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail as evidenced in the application materials.Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with photography, digital cameras, and/or scanners.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of and experience with digital imaging and metadata creation.
- Experience using image editing software as Adobe software, Capture One, Scan Tailor etc.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlooks and Teams.
- Experience working in museums or libraries.
- Experience in handling fragile, oversized, or unwieldy materials.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and independently problem-solve.
