Summary
Dr. Maya Balakrishnan is a clinical researcher in the Section of Gastroenterology & Hepatology in the Department of Medicine. She is looking to temporarily hire a Student Helper to support our research mission. We are seeking a motivated 3rd or 4th year undergraduate student or graduate student, who is genuinely interested in clinical research, medical sociology, medical anthropology, and/or behavioral science to join an active research team as a part-time student intern.
Job Duties
- Recruits and enrolls patients into observational studies
- Manages data collection, entry, and storage.
- Manages IRB submissions.
- Co-facilitates focus group discussions.
- Conducts and contributes to qualitative interviews
- Helps develop patient educational materials
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of the first two year undergraduate studies.
- Fluency in Spanish (both spoken and written).
- Organized, prompt, self-motivated, teamwork, works well under pressure, multitasking.
- Experience conducting qualitative research (interviews, focus group discussions) is a plus but not required.
- Proficient at Microsoft word and Powerpoint.
