The Game Artist will aid Instructional Innovations' Senior XR Developer in creating virtual experiences for Purdue University courses. In this role, students will create 3D art to be used within these experiences.
The successful candidate will be expected to produce content with guidance from the Senior XR Developer. They will be required to build trust by maintaining confidential materials, and will need to demonstrate an understanding of 3D art pipelines.
- Creating finished 3D art pieces from scratch
- Editing 3D marketplace assets
- Collaborating between other student and full-time artists and developers to create immersive digital spaces
Working hours are flexible. This is a remote position.
- Strong understanding of 3D art tools such as Maya or Blender
- Able to work 10-20 hours per week
- Strong understanding of 3D asset pipelines (modeling, texturing, rigging, animation)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Foundational understanding of art integration in 3D game engines (rendering pipelines)
- Proficiency with Unity and Blender
- Student level portfolio or files from student projects as work samples
- Experience using VR equipment or developing art for VR
