Full-Time (11-month contract)

Position Purpose

The Student Engagement Coordinator position provides leadership and administrative management to a comprehensive and vibrant Student Engagement program that complements and supports the mission of Williamson College of the Trades. A top priority for the position is to build a Student Engagement program that honors diversity, access, and fun for all Williamson’s students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities/Functions

Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Student Engagement Coordinator will assist in the planning and implementation of student activities, including building a dynamic and highly engaging calendar of events. Additionally, the position serves as the Wesley Student Center manager from 4:30 – 9:30 pm Monday to Thursday evenings. Specific roles and responsibilities are outlined below:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of key student activities such as the student intramural program and Homecoming activities.
  • In direct support of the Office of Student Affairs, assist in the planning and execution of key Lenfest Leadership program events such as First Year Experience (FYE), the Junior Leadership Expedition (JLE), and the Senior Capstone.
  • Lead and cultivate a vibrant Student Engagement program through collaboration with faculty, staff, and students that positively contributes to student success, retention, campus climate, and the college’s mission.
  • Management and oversight of the Student Activity Program, whereby each student fulfills a commitment to at least one student activity or sport each year.
  • Provide discipleship and spiritual guidance to students interested in the Christian faith.

Qualifications (Skills and Abilities Required)

  • Associate degree or higher in student personnel, higher education administration, ministry, or a related field preferred.
  • 2 years of relevant, progressive experience in student activities preferred.
  • Ability to carry out a variety of professionally complex assignments and implement effective courses of action independently.
  • Strong organizational, creative, and innovative capabilities and the ability to successfully implement new initiatives and maximize available resources.
  • A commitment to collaborating with faculty, staff, alumni, students, and community partners in the holistic education of students.
  • Proficient in the use of technology, software (Microsoft Office Suite), the internet and web-based forms.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with experience presenting to large audiences.

Working Conditions

Generally, in both outdoor and indoor settings depending on the nature of the specific student activity.

No direct supervisory responsibilities.
