Description
Under the direct supervision of the Computer Graphics Technology Program Coordinator, the Computer Graphics Technology student laboratory assistant is responsible for the movement and preparation of material and equipment for Computer Graphics Technology classes. The lab assistant must be able to communicate effectively, follow written instructions, verbal directions, and safety policies established by the Business, Technology and Human Services division.
Examples of Duties
A. Assists in the movement and preparation of material and equipment for Computer Graphics Technology classes.
B. Cleans and maintains equipment as needed.
C. Assists in setting up displays and equipment used in laboratory classes by students and faculty following instructions provided.
D. Assists in the restocking of consumables between classes and in the dismantling of laboratory set-up following completion of laboratory.
E. Assists in maintaining an organized and safe learning and working environment.
F. Follows instructions on the proper use and storage of toners, equipment, and organization of work/laboratory areas.
G. Other related duties similar in scope and complexity.
H. Assists in maintaining a current inventory. Notifies program coordinator of low inventory.
Minimum Qualifications
A. High school diploma or equivalent and has completed or is enrolled in a Computer Graphics Technology class is required.
B. Must have taken and successfully completed at least one computer graphic course at the community college or university level.
C. Able to understand terminology used in computer graphic technology.
E. Must have excellent communication skills.
F. Must be able to work independently and effectively with others.
G. Must be able to maintain a consistent work schedule.
J. Federal Work-Study students should also read and agree to the program rules and regulations.
Supplemental Information
Rate of pay: $13.00 per hour eff 1/1/23.
