Job Description:
Under work direction and supervision of unit management perform complex Student Account maintenance functions and related customer service activities, including processing third party education assistance and invoicing accounts; auditing Student Accounts, making routine and non-routine adjustments to Student Accounts; preparing and issuing invoices and refunds; receiving and posting cash, check and credit payments; answering routine/difficult inquiries from customers; may provide work direction and/or training to lower level Student Account Specialists.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires 1000 hours training as Student Account Specialist 1 (or 12 months experience); ability
to calculate fractions, decimals & percentages & read & write common vocabulary plus 6 courses in public relations (or 6 mos. experience); 600 hours training in collections-related procedures and techniques; and 600 hours training in lending account recordkeeping (or 6 mos exp.) or equivalent.
Communication and other skills:
Excellent communication skills required
Experience in Microsoft excel required
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Higher Education desired
Experience in ERP system desired
