Carry out design and performance for new and redesigned turbine hardware, non-turbine engine structures, field failures and production support. Ability to make technical presentations internally and to customers. Works with customers to define and document requirements, address technical concerns, and provide project status.
The structural engineer will be responsible for the structural design and analysis of new or upgraded turbomachinery hardware, focused on stress, vibration, and life analyses. Through physics based finite element analysis and classical hand calculations, the structural engineer will analyze complex components and assemblies exposed to extreme loading and temperature environments. Working in an interdisciplinary team, the engineer will evolve the design based on these results to meet all requirements. Professional or internship experience is preferred but not required.
