TheBridge Carpenter is responsible for the planning and execution of the forming, pouring and stripping of substructure and superstructure concrete components and falsework associated with bridge construction. He/she builds rough wooden structures, such as concrete forms, scaffolds, tunnel, bridge, or sewer supports, billboard signs, and temporary frame shelters, according to sketches, blueprints, or oral instructions.
- Construct and repair wooden and concrete bridges
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Measure and cut materials to size
- Install and repair structural components
- Operate hand and power tools
- Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times
- Communicate with team members and supervisors
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in bridge carpentry and construction
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
