AND IF YOU HAVE THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Professional or Structural Engineering License preferred. Expectation to pass PE or SE within 1 year if not currently licensed.
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance.
  • Active Clerance preferred.
  • Great attitude and team player.
  • Successful completion of background screening process.
    In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $87,440 - $131,160. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).

Responsibilities:

AS THE STRUCTURAL PROJECT ENGINEER, HERE’S THE WORK YOU’LL DO:

  • Develop technical requirements for renovation and new construction projects in line with facility and code standards in support of the development of design requests for proposal (for structural discipline). Includes walk throughs, and stakeholder meetings/interviews.
  • Perform technical reviews of design packages submitted by design firms.
  • Create cost estimates in support of technical requirements development.
  • Create, edit and check project documents to include plans and BIM models, specifications and support documents (basis of Design) requests for proposal and statement of work.
  • Perform engineering calculations and evaluate equipment selection in support of technical requirements development.

THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE THESE SKILLS:

  • Has mastered the primary production tools, methods and calculations used throughout the department. Properly understands the diverse design process and has strong project experience from inception to substantial completion. Expected to be actively increasing understanding and command of all site and building structural systems regularly encountered throughout the department.
  • Been a client facing representative of structural department and begins to participate in business development activities. Created and present ideas to clients in form of drawings, sketches, and other exhibits. Coordinated and communicated with architects and engineers both internally and externally.
  • Worked with other engineers, disciplines and project managers to ensure project scope is satisfied. Actively supports project manager and department leadership with design scope modifications for assigned projects. Actively managed departmental project cost throughout the design. Ensured design constructability and coordination with other disciplines necessary for a successful construction project. Ensured all structural CA responsibilities for project are handled successfully.
  • Functioned as the Responsible Engineer of Record accountable for the technical sufficiency of some or all structural department project deliverables – limits of responsibility to be determined in concert with more senior department leadership.
  • Able to build trusted relationships with department through maintaining ownership for assigned work and delivering efficient and high-quality results. Expected to be a proactive learner, responsible to seek out support when needed, identify expectations, check own work output against quality expectations, and pursue opportunities to grow technical capabilities. Maintains professional humility and respect in partnership with all team members in pursuit of overall project success. Is expected to know their own technical limitations and proactively seek out support where needed while maintaining their lead role for the project. Ability to take direction and guidance from more senior staff within company. Ability to provide direction and guidance to less senior staff within department.
