Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Navisworks and Revit
Experience creating 3D models for Revit/Navisworks (BIM integration)
Shop drawing level of detail experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base
Industrial design experience in semiconductor facilities, or similar
Experience with fabrication design best practices
Experience working with construction documentation
Collaborative skills to communicate and coordinate with multiple disciplines
Self-starter that can own projects and design packages with little oversight
Responsibilities:
Conduct regular site visits to verify existing field conditions and to ensure the alignment of the design implementation process with the projects Basis of Design (BOD) and specifications.
Coordinating effectively with project engineers, project coordinators, engineering coordinators, construction trades, and other team members to ensure that the design reflects the projects objectives
Generate fabrication level of detail (LOD) design packages for construction in the shop(s) and installation in the field
Providing comprehensive drawing packages that are clear, accurate, and compatible with project design standards.
Providing custom installation details for the more complex portions of projects.
Conduct punch-list walks on completed projects to ensure the final implementation adheres to the design intent
Physical Requirements:
Position requires visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction. Applicant must be able to walk long distances, sit and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, work in small spaces, lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Authorized to Work:
Applicant must complete background check and drug screen and be fully authorized to work for any client in the Unites States. Jacobs will not sponsor or continue a visa for this position.
Quals--
As a Structural Fabrication Design Technician with Jacobs, you will be working at a cutting-edge manufacturing plant in Boise, ID. You will provide technical and drawing production support for the Site Based Solutions group and our client that will be instrumental in expanding and optimizing facility operations to meet growing production needs. This position offers a dynamic work environment where youll collaborate closely with engineers, clients, and construction trades. Your work will help translate innovative ideas into tangible designs, driving the operational excellence of the plant. Engaging in on-site work is a pivotal part of this role, where youll be tasked with assessing existing field conditions and spearheading the implementation of new designs and systems.
Each day you will help us engage with clients and subcontractors as you assist on equipment, supports, and technical detailing leveraging your experience with fabrication level of detail design and associated tools including Autodesk Inventor, Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks to create design packages that bring our visions to life. Required Qualifications:
Associates Degree in CADD/Engineering, or related design field
Extensive knowledge of ASME/ANSI Y14 drafting standard including Geometric Design and Tolerancing (GD&T)
6+ years of progressive experience in Structural or Industrial design for fabrication including:
o Weldment framing (deep knowledge of welding symbology)
o Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) equipment including laser, waterjet, plasma, EDM, routers, etc.
o Metal forming (CNC press brake)
o Materials: mild steel, P&O steel, aluminum, and plastics
o Manual machining processes (lathes, mills, surface grinding, etc.)
Software: (6+ years)
o Autodesk Inventor (will consider reduction in Inventor experience if augmented with extensive Solidworks experience or similar feature-based CADD), Navisworks, and AutoCAD
o Product Data Management (PDM) experience with Autodesk Vault or equivalent
Living in or willing to relocate to Boise, Idaho or surrounding area
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to interact with client(s) when needed
