Stress Test Technician

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and brief patients on the Stress Test procedure, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
• Attach electrodes and heart rate monitors to patients and ensure they are properly connected to the Stress Test equipment.
• Monitor and record patients' cardiovascular responses (heart rate, blood pressure, ECG) during the Stress Test using a treadmills.
• Observe patients for signs of distress or abnormal responses, and promptly report any issues to the supervising medical professional.
• Ensure the Stress Test equipment is in proper working order, performing routine maintenance and calibration as needed.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, documenting all relevant information from the Stress Test procedures.
• Collaborate with provider and other medical staff to interpret test results and assist in developing appropriate treatment plans.
• Educate patients on the importance of cardiovascular health and provide guidance on lifestyle changes to improve heart health.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in Stress Test procedures and cardiovascular diagnostic technologies.

Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related health field (e.g., Cardiovascular Technology, Exercise Physiologist) is preferred.
• Certification as a Cardiographic Technician or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in a cardiovascular lab or similar clinical setting is preferred.
• Strong understanding of cardiovascular physiology and Stress Test procedures.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care to patients.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced medical environment.
• Proficient in the use of Stress Test equipment and related diagnostic tools.

Working Conditions:

This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods and assist patients during the Stress Test procedures. The technician may be exposed to bodily fluids and must adhere to strict hygiene and safety protocols.
