Job Title: Stress Analysis Engineer
Location: New Port Richey, FL
Job Description & Skill Requirement:
The Stress Analysis Engineer is responsible for undertaking Stress Analysis tasks in support of the Global Aerospace design organizations. This includes performing or review and approval (where applicable) of engineering calculations to accurately predict product performance and maintaining a design on schedule and within cost goals. Responsible for analysis from concept through qualification to in-life support.
Primary Functions:
Vibration, structural and material analysis of parts and assemblies.
Preparation and delivery of stress related work packages and reports.
Delivery of right-first-time structural optimization during bids and design phases.
Determining the verification and validation for design solutions, define product testing and analyze results.
Creation, development, and promotion of best practice through standard work.
Liaise with all functions to understand requirements and propose viable solutions.
Identify, manage, and mitigate risk.
Manage and develop off-load capability and platform development roadmap.
Subject Matter Expert for FEA and Stress Analysis, Mentor other associates and deliver training internally.
Engage Design Authorities when required for design approval.
Liaise with customers in conjunction with the Design Authority, regarding analysis.
Participate in design reviews.
Secondary Functions:
Delivery of design rules, specific to the design specialism.
Use engineering tools including Catia 3-D solid modeling software, and finite element analysis tools.
Maintain established project schedules through the design cycle and manage all project design functions through qualification.
Work on proposals for new projects.
Work with Design Engineers, CAD designers and drafters to create all levels of drawings required for manufacturing and assembly of the product.
Fully understand and adhere to all Engineering Operations Procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering Bachelor's Degree.
Minimum of 10 years industry experience in performing FEA analysis in a regulated industry such as Aerospace.
Use of Stress Analysis software packages (ANSYS preferred).
Proven experience of computer aided design (CATIA V5 preferred).
Experienced in Stress Analysis with ability to run hand calculations to complement FEA tools.
