The Olympic Club, a private member athletic and country club in San Francisco, seeks a Personal Trainer / Fitness Professional / Group Fitness Instructor for our downtown City Clubhouse. At The Olympic Club, our members enjoy 2 campuses, 19 sports, world-renowned golf courses, exceptional social and athletic programs as well as 18 hotel rooms and 5 Food & Beverage outlets. Our City Clubhouse is located one block from Union Square and within easy walking distance of the Powell Street BART station. Our Lakeside Clubhouse sits next to the ocean on the border of San Francisco and Daly City.
The Olympic Club offers employees free golf on Mondays at our Lakeside campus and a variety of sports and social events for employees throughout the year as well as lunch and dinner provided every day.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate clients’ fitness levels and health conditions through fitness assessments.
- Build individualized exercise programs.
- Explain exercises in detail and suggest alternatives if needed.
- Monitor progress of clients’ fitness levels
- Explain safe and proper use of gym equipment.
- Research on new exercise techniques and trends
- Perform CPR and administer first aid in case of emergencies.
- Inform clients about gym safety and hygiene guidelines.
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with customers.
- Advise customers on how to change nutritional and lifestyle habits as needed.
- Assist in developing and leading classes related to wellness, rehabilitation, and injury prevention.
- Write articles for The Olympian magazine that pertain to health and fitness.
Requirements and Skills:
- Attending meetings and assigned training.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Personal Trainer or relevant role
- Knowledge of various fitness programs, from basic exercises to more challenging training sessions
- Ability to guide and motivate clients.
- Available to work flexible hours.
- Excellent communication skills
- Certificates in CPR / AED and first aid
Essential functions and responsibilities:
- Assisting and working with members in the exercise area
- Perform Fitness Assessment and discuss the results with members.
- Develop and design fitness programs for members.
- Troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment
- Keep fitness areas clean and tidy.
- Attending meetings and assigned training.
- Implementing and developing motivational challenges, events, and programs.
- Write articles for our club magazine.
- Any / all duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager.
- Adheres to all federal, state, local and San Francisco laws regarding health, safety, and employment.
