The Town of Stratford seeks qualified applicants for the position of Police Officer. Candidates must take and pass a written exam, physical abilities exam, oral examination, medical physical exam, drug screen, polygraph examination, background investigation and psychological evaluation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust provide copies of the following with your application:
- High School Diploma or State Equivalency Certificate (GED)
- 21 years old by Application Deadline
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship (Social Security Card or Passport)
- Valid C.H.I.P. Card Standard
- CPCA Written Exam (70% or higher)
- Points awarded toward exam for veterans of the U.S Armed Forces & local residents of the Town of Stratford (documentation must be provided for both with your application and will be validated by the Town)

C.H.I.P. PHYSICAL AGILITY ASSESSMENTAll candidates are required to complete the physical agility assessment exam. The Town of Stratford requires applicants to meet the standard.
If you are C.H.I.P. certified, only C.H.I.P. cards valid through application deadline date which indicates that you met the standard will be accepted. A copy of your C.H.I.P. card must accompany your application.
If you are not C.H.I.P. certified or do not meet the standard, you must register with the C.H.I.P. for the agility exam to meet the Town of Stratford standard in order to submit your application. SEE C.H.I.P. TEST INFORMATION BELOW.

FEES: A non-refundable fee of $95.00 must accompany your registration for the CPCA Entry Level Police Officer Exam. Financial hardship consideration will be given on a case-by-case basis.

C.H.I.P. TEST INFORMATION:All candidates are required to complete the physical agility assessment exam. The agility is conducted by Complete Health & Injury Prevention (C.H.I.P.). All questions regarding the C.H.I.P. test should be directed to C.H.I.P. at their website www.CertifyFit.com. Only candidates receiving a passing score will be eligible to apply.
