Strategic Sourcing Specialist

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for supporting and coordinating indirect purchasing initiatives across the enterprise. They will participate in the procurement of key products and services by developing purchasing strategies, identifying alternative supplier partners, establishing baselines for best-in-class pricing, and conducting supplier negotiations. They will help the business achieve and realize contracted savings by driving projects as well as building business cases for new projects that create value for the company. This role will work closely with business leadership, legal counsel, finance, and external suppliers.

Essential Duties:

• Partner with internal stakeholders to identify sourcing needs and improve category strategy
• Oversee project management of the RFP process including, but not limited to, the development of the requirements, drafting of RFP documents, facilitation of team meetings, and vendor negotiations
• Perform market research to support category strategies and/or sourcing activities with the ability to filter data into a relevant, actionable format
• Perform analysis to support negotiation of commercial terms and pricing with the vendors
• Utilize data and internal resources to explore categories of spend and identify new potential sourcing opportunities
• Drive supplier performance through business reviews, scorecard creation, and on-site interactions
• Support the creation and documentation of standard procurement templates and processes
• Be the commercial point of contact for assigned supplier relationships
• Other duties as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) from a college or university required, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering, Business, or related discipline
• Strong understanding of fundamental Strategic Sourcing process steps and contracting process
• 1+ years’ experience in a Sourcing, Sourcing Analyst, and/or Supply Chain role with a focus on demand disciplines or related field
• Experience with supplier management and commercial negotiation
• Demonstrated expertise working with Excel (statistical functions, VLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables) and Business Intelligence (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) preferred
• Ability to work with large data sets (cleaning, auditing, and formatting data) to conduct thorough and accurate analysis. Strong mathematical background
• Strong ability and desire to work both independently and in group / project settings
• Strong verbal/written communication and group presentation skills
• Strong financial acumen related to costs and margin management
