Strategic Associate, Office of the CTO

About the Role

As the Strategic Associate, Office of the CTO you will support the engineering leadership team as a true partner. You are the problem solver and a leverager for our engineering leadership.

Get a front-row seat helping us actively scale our successful engineering group to the next level, while frequently interacting with every department at Ninja.

The role requires competent communication and schedule management, engineering leader support, as well as thoughtful process creation and implementation. As you grow, you’ll be given opportunities to represent engineering in various initiatives and cross-department projects.

Location- Remote in TX, CT, FL, NC, GA, ME, KS, or VA- We have physical offices in Austin, TX or Tampa, FL if you prefer a hybrid role.

What You’ll be Doing

• Air-traffic Controller: Act as a leverager to engineering leadership by overseeing in-bound and out-bound communications. Manage the CTO’s and engineering leadership calendars. Keep the airport running smoothly.

• Task Handling Wizard: Proactively handle any inbound requests you are capable of. Be self-aware enough to ask for help with something new you are learning.

• Communication Drafter (a.k.a. Cyrano de Bergerac): Compose communications on behalf of the engineering team.

• Process Efficiency Maestro: Develop as many “autopilot handers” for repetitive tasks as possible. That could mean developing an SOP, automating a process execution, working with another department to streamline an inefficiency, etc.

• Configurator of SaaS: Assist with basic administration of a handful of engineering-specific SaaS software tools such as Jira, PluralSight Flow, etc. When you’re ready, we’ll pay for you to attend the vendor-product-training to level up your skills and help us discover new ways to improve our software use.

• Content Author: As your knowledge deepens, draft presentations and documentation for engineering.

About You

• 4+ years of experience as an Executive Assistant, Deputy Chief-of-Staff or Chief-of-Staff supporting an engineering leader (CTO, CIO, etc.).

• Prior experience at a technical or software company strongly preferred (e.g., a company that sold software or technology as its product).

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

• Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering company.
