As a Straightener, youwill support a broad range of activities in a dynamic, high energy productionenvironment in the fabrication of carbon steel and stainless-steel car bodiesfor the best rail vehicles in the world.
Whatwe are offering
Full time position
Starting pay - $21.00/hr.(plus shift premium - 10% for 2nd shift, 20% for 3rdshift)
11 paid holidays, 18 days PTO
401K - 6% company match

What you will be doing
  • Adjust welded car body assemblies viaheat or cold straightening to ensure compliance will all dimensions andtolerance specifications.
  • Read and understand manufacturingdrawings to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Verify work using proper tools andequipment such as but not limited to straight edge, tape measure, andtemplates.
  • Repair fabrication errors accordingto defined repair procedures.
  • Complete work order documentation,quality documents, and accurately clock labor hours.
  • Safely use hand, power, and weldingtools.
  • Meet company standards for qualityand workmanship
  • Meet production schedule, qualityrequirements, and budgeted labor hours with limited supervision.
  • Follow all safety requirements,including use of all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Contributeto and maintain conditions that ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

What you need to be successful
  • Highschool education or GED
  • 2years MIG welding experience or completion of accredited weld education program
  • Generalmechanical background.
  • BasicEnglish skills - ability to read and understand written instructions andeffectively communicate verbally.

We would be impressed if you have
  • AWScertification for welding carbon steel using GMAW 3G vertical up and 4Foverhead
  • Workingknowledge of GMAW welding

  • Upon offer of employment, candidateswill be subject to a background check and drug screen, as well as Pulmonary Function Test and Respirator FitTest.

    • Frequentlywalk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
    • Occasionallyrequired to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools orcontrols; climb, crawl in tight spaces or balance; talk and hear.
    • Liftand move no more than 40 pounds.
    • Specificvision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision,peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

  • Welders are required to wear aPowered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR), and other required protectiveequipment.
