Description
The Stormwater Field Technician is responsible for installing, repairing and removing sediment and erosion controls that are commonly used as Best Management Practices (BMPs) at construction sites.
Requirements
Essential Job Functions

  • Properly install, maintain, and repair sediment and erosion control measures at construction sites
  • Operate hand tools, power tools and light construction equipment
  • Accurately track and report time, project materials and equipment used
  • Safely and efficiently drive and operate a company vehicle and trailer
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Environment and Travel
The Stormwater Field Technician frequently travels to construction sites throughout the central Florida region and works in the field using hand tools, power tools and light construction equipment. This position requires working a standard work week in the field and may require extended hours and weekends, as needed.
Physical Requirements
To successfully complete the field duties associated with this position, the Stormwater Field Tech must be able to:
  • Wear standard PPE (hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, work boots);
  • Work outdoors in a variety of weather;
  • Walk, at times, long distances over a variety of terrain;
  • Work in various positions, including but not limited to walking, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time; and
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout an assigned workday

Minimum Qualifications
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Experience with light construction, landscaping, data collection, and stormwater management concepts and techniques.
  • One year installing, repairing and removing stormwater BMPs
  • Some experience with silt fence installation equipment
  • Work independently and as a team members
  • Good attendance and driving record
  • Must be able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening

Preferred Qualifications
  • AA/AS degree
  • Five years experience installing and maintaining many types of BMPs used in stormwater infrastructure (e.g inlet protection, perimeter controls)
  • Experience leading Stormwater Field Technicians

Salary Description
$17.00 to $19.00/hour
