Job Responsibilities
- Design of stormwater management systems, storm drain systems, open channel conveyance, and culvert analysis.
- Performs Roadway Drainage analysis and design on multiple projects with many complex features.
- Performs hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, prepares hydrologic and hydraulic models, evaluates results, and summarizes results and recommendations to produce drainage impact studies, conveyance analysis, storage analysis, and other drainage improvements.
- Provides technical input/review of project deliverables.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
- At minimum, must have passed the FE exam and/or currently hold an EIT Certificate or more senior level licensed in State of Texas Project Engineer (PE).
- Interest in Roadway Drainage and hydrology and hydraulics
- 2-5+ years of experience in drainage, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design, or related surface water engineering is preferred but not required.
- Hydrologic/hydraulic modeling experience desired including both steady and unsteady modeling, 1D and 2D modeling (e.g. EPA SWMM) experience is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency using drafting software (Open Roads Designer, and MicroStation) desired and drainage design software (esp. ORD Subsurface Utilities and Drainage Analysis and/or Geopak Drainage) desired.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
- Experience with TX DOT projects is desirable.
- Prefer experience or knowledge in HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, InfoWorks, XPSWMM 1D & 2D, ArcGIS or ArcPro, HEC-GeoRAS, HEC-GeoHMS, or ArcHydro, ESRI, HY-8
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
