Job Summary
- Fills storeroom requisitions and carries or delivers to requesting departments. Obtains authorized signatures for accepting supplies and deducts such items from computerized inventory system by keypunch input.
- Maintains established inventory levels with aid of computerized reports and periodically takes physical count of stock on hand and reports any variances to the Materials Manager.
- Stocks and maintains specified items in the General Storeroom in a clean and orderly manner. Notifies Materials Manager of usage fluctuations.
- Examines materials for expiration dates, removes expired material from shelves and notifies the Stores & Purchasing Clerk.
- Completes other reports periodically, listing such dates as shipment received, materials issued or requisitioned, equipment received, nutritional usage and back order reports.
- Files and maintains Receiving Purchase Order file. Works along with Accounts Payable clerks to resolve any discrepancies on shipping documents.
- Assists in taking inventory as required.
- Makes minor repairs of items in stock and assembles minor equipment on occasion. Logs and tags all hospital equipment.
- Makes pick-ups or special deliveries to off-site locations such as Pediatric Practices in Union/Essex counties. Act as back-up to the Mail Clerk Courier position.
