Job Title: Store Ops Industrial Engineer Intern

Salary: $17.00/hr
*This internship begins on May 20, 2024 and runs until August 8, 2024. This role is a full time commitment (37.5 hour work week).*
Job Summary:
The Intern will assist the Foodservice Effectiveness Team in designing and implementing executable processes for new product offers along with supporting the team in driving efficiencies through store design and layout improvements. The Store Ops Process Design intern will engage with cross functional teams at Corporate while also spending time at the Wawa stores evaluating foodservice processes and gathering associate feedback. This position will have great exposure to many different areas of the business and will report to the Foodservice Process Design Specialist while supporting the broader team.

Job Summary:

Principal Duties:
- Conduct analysis and provide insights to inform decisions as it relates to foodservice processes, production planning, and store design
- Perform observations on new and existing processes in stores, engaging with store associates to understand their perspective, understand what's working, and identifying potential opportunities
- Build process flow diagrams, identify nonvalue add steps, & recommend productivity improvements
- Support the project management of key projects including managing the store opening of new store formats in test
- Support the team in adhoc analytics
- Spend targeted time working in the stores to gain true understanding of the business

- Some travel required to local stores (approximately 25%)

Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or Higher
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a college or university for the Spring 2024 semester - Fall 2025 semester
- Candidate must be available from May 20, 2024 - August 8, 2024
- Pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline (IE preferred)
- Data analysis (primarily via Excel)
- Ability to build process flow diagrams
- Ability to understand CAD store design drawings
- Understanding of the key operational considerations in a business that drive productivity
- Must have strong computer skills, i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Rising Junior or Rising Senior with an anticipated graduation date of December 2024, Spring 2025, December 2025 or Spring 2026.
