Job Summary

The manager position at our gas station is considered a crucial part of the company’s operations. Managers are the examples for employees and our implementers and enforcers at the site. The responsibilities of a Store Manager are but not limited to customer service, cash management, hiring, training, product ordering, environmental compliance, payroll, and BP Helios or other Brand / third party site inspection checklists.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Greeting all customer must be second nature; all customers must feel welcome and accommodated to.
• The site manager must be the model example for all employees.
• Managers are to enforce the high standard of customer service, resolving issues and deescalating confrontation.
• Managers ensuring all employees are properly trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities and daily tasks will help ensure proper function of the site. Training employees on the register, lottery machine, customer service, reconciling shift is a crucial managerial task, to ensure accuracy and time is use efficiency.
• All managers must train employees to be able to follow emergency procedures.
• Must also keep an organized and easily accessible record of fuel inventory reconciliation and environment and fire checklist.
• Managers are responsible for reviewing cashier and fuel attendant shift. Managers are also responsible for funding the ATM on site with the cash from the current day, all reports from the ATM and the Day Report should reconciled.
• Managers have the responsibility to keep the site properly stock.
• Responsible for replenishing merchandise in the store.
• Ordering merchandise is a responsibility. An ordering schedule will be made and should be followed as routinely as possible.
• Managers will be given a payroll hour budget to handle.
• Employees are responsible for the sales made. Sales may include lottery, alcohol and / or pork products.
• Must be able to manage staff and the staffing schedule and properly staff the site.
• Responsible for identifying issues and rectify issues promptly such as; maintenance issues, environment compliance, operational procedures, and ensure customer service standards are met.
• Keep the work area clean is for our customers and our employee’s safety.
• Mandatory that all employees have a basic understanding of the equipment and components of operating the site.
• Simple troubleshooting should be basic knowledge for all employees and managers to help eliminate unnecessary down time and inconvenience to our customers.
Qualifications
• Communication and Problem-solving ability are key.
• Able to handle and reconcile cash, accepting payment from customers and returning change properly.
• Honesty, Integrity, Respect must be held in high regards when dealing with customers, coworker, vendors and supervisors.
• Must have basic knowledge in computers and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
• In NYC all gas station managers must have a P15.
• Must have reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.
Physical Requirements:
• Employees may work in uncomfortable weather conditions while performing daily tasks
• Able to speak, read and understand the English language and able to perform basic math
• Likes working with the public, answering questions, helping customers
• Communicates and works as a team player with others
• Able to work independently and able to learn quickly
• Able to multitask in a fast paced environment, adjust to change, puts forth initiative
• Able to work flexible hours including weekends, nights, and holidays
• Regular dependable work attendance and punctuality required; works scheduled hours
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Frequent lifting of 5-10lbs and occasional lifting up to 50lbs
• Able to stand up to 8 hours
• Able to bend/twist/reach
• Clarity of vision near/ far distances and acceptable level of hearing
• Able to work in a cooler at a temperature of 39 degrees for 30 minutes
• Able to climb a ladder to do windows, reach equipment, reach store supplies etc.
• Able to stock shelves on the sales floor and in the cooler
• Able to sweep and mop floors, dust shelves, and lift and carry out trash and place in outside bin
• Able to clean pumps, parking lots and surrounding grounds
• Able to tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products
• Able to attend any mandatory training
