Job Summary:
The Store Clerk will prepare and serve select food and beverage items to patrons, answer in-store questions, take phone orders, stock and face coolers, prep food stations, monitor shelves for expired merchandise, fill propane tanks, operate gas pumps, clean and sanitize equipment and workstations, manage the client check out and be responsible for each individual customer experience.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides excellent customer service, makes product recommendations, and answers customer questions.
- Describes product details to customers.
- Receives and processes customer payments utilizing the Point-of Sale system ensuring proper cash handling and is accountable for income discrepancies.
- Prepares and serves foods and baked goods including, daily specials, sandwiches, salads, pastries, and hot food items.
- Utilizes and operates all deli equipment according to safety guidelines including portion scales, meat and vegetable slicers, fryer, panini grill, and any other equipment as directed.
- Ensures customer service stations are properly stocked with paper products or beverage preparation items.
- Cleans and sanitizes all equipment and food surfaces, including meat and cheese slicer, deli display cases, utensils, dishes, and work areas.
- Cleans and sanitizes service and seating areas.
- Ensures proper functioning of freezers, refrigerators, and heating by routinely checking temperatures in that equipment.
- Stocks supplies or retail products; may inventory, order, or receive products as directed.
- Checks in and stocks daily deliveries; ensures deli display cases and store shelves are organized and fully stocked.
- Adhere to federal, state, and local food safety and sanitation guidelines as well as company policies and procedures.
- Assist customers with re-fueling pumps and propane dispensing.
- Complete daily cleanup including sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, dusting, and other tasks as assigned.
- Work as a team with co-workers.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow all safe food handling procedures and sanitation practices.
- Good memory to manage multiple orders simultaneously and recall faces, names, and preferences of frequent patrons.
- Ability to serve customers quickly, efficiently, and kindly.
- Ability to collaborate and assist other team members.
- Effective cash handling and quickly complete basic math functions.
- Must maintain reliable and dependable attendance and provide independent reliable transportation.
Education and Experience:
- Must successfully complete training in food preparation, food service skills, and customer service procedures.
- Must be able to obtain an OLCC server license and food handler’s card.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to endure repetitive motion such as standing, walking, kneeling, and bending.
- Must be available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
