The selected individual must possess an in-depth knowledge of a wide range of advanced server virtualization and storage (SAN) technologies and management practices in order to maintain 24/7/365 business operations. This position will administer, troubleshoot, upgrade, design and configure server and storage infrastructure and management systems at multiple locations.
WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON:
- Provides hands-on systems administration and management of advanced enterprise class server and storage infrastructure in support of a diverse customer base on a 24/7/365 basis.
- Provides direct customer support for problem resolution and escalation.
- Supports server, storage, and datacenter operations on a 24/7/365 basis that may include: deployments, upgrades, rollouts, troubleshooting, administration, and other related functions.
- Configures, upgrades, installs, troubleshoots, and manages a highly virtualized server environment.
- Configures, upgrades, installs, and manages server and storage diagnostic, configuration and management tools and systems.
- Manages and maintains detailed system documentation.
- Manages, monitors, and maintains data backup and restore systems.
- Supports a wide range of disaster recovery and data center operations.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- Must be able to work as part of an on-call, 24/7 shift rotation schedule.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Advanced knowledge and experience managing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a highly virtualized, Kubernetes, VMware/Hyper-V, environment.
- Advanced knowledge and experience managing, installing, and troubleshooting an enterprise class Storage Area Network (SAN), CEPH filesystem and clustered storage solutions.
- Experience managing data backup and recovery systems across remote sites.
- Experience with Microsoft Powershell, Python, Ansible, Terraform.
- Experience with setup, configuration and administration of patch management and automated inventory management tools.
- Experience developing and maintaining infrastructure documentation with a minimum of 2 years’ experience with Microsoft Visio.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with both customers and team members are required.
- Travel throughout the State is occasionally required.
- A working knowledge of Edge Networking, VLAN Tagging, Layer 2 fundamentals.
- Considerable knowledge of current information technology trends and capabilities.
- Experience planning, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting network, server or storage systems; resolving network or server problems; working with end users to develop and implement information technology solutions for user computing needs in a business environment.
- Experience as a technical lead implementing or supporting network, server or storage systems.
