Job description

Position Summary: The primary responsibility for this position is preparing outgoing shipments as well as a variety of other shipping and stockroom tasks. These include but are not limited to preparing orders for shipment, verifying outgoing materials are as ordered, dispatching transportation, picking, and staging of orders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accurately assemble orders by verifying quantity and item numbers.
  • Accurately pack, seal, weigh and label all outgoing shipments.
  • Transacts all shipments through Order Shipping (CSI/ERP System) into Pacejet or in an emergency process through WorldShip
  • Prepare shipping labels or bills of lading for shipping outside of the CSI/Pacejet system such as FedEx, DHL, or LTL etc.
  • Prepares International shipments by gathering paperwork from the Inventory/Export Specialist daily
  • Schedule pickups for non-UPS shipments or domestic LTL freight shipments by any carrier
  • Notifies Inventory/Export Specialist and manager of any LTL or delivery carrier issues such as damage, shipping errors etc.
  • Review daily emailed “Orders to Ship” report for orders to be shipped that day and if something can’t be shipped notify customer service
  • Notify manufacturing and purchasing of missing items for customer orders 2-3 days before shipment to ensure on-time delivery
  • Maintain and report on-time shipping, date, and quantity of shipments in the daily excel log
  • Check in and disposition manufactured parts to the designated locations
  • Check job bins daily for late jobs or purchase parts and notify production control/purchasing for anything that is past due
  • Pick and stage parts for loader, jobs, mods, and customer orders
  • Write all stockouts on Gemba board and add the customer due date for any manufactured stockouts
  • Handle issues arising from shipping with the Inventory/Export Specialist
  • Checks stockout folder daily to ensure stockouts are up to date
  • Orders shipping supplies (boxes, tubes, tape, packing materials, etc.)
  • Deliver and/or pickup orders from local vendors via the company vehicle
  • Assist in preparation and counting of inventory
  • Designated backup for Stockroom Receiving Specialist
  • Efficiently dispatch outgoing shipments
  • Coordinates with manufacturing supervisor for assembly to build crates for large shipments

Job Duties:

  • Train/Cross trained within the department
  • Communicates any changes that affect team members to manager
  • Upgrade UPS/Pacejet system with newer versions as they become available
  • Follows company safety policies

Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills and Performance:

  • Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred experience with shipping in an ERP system
  • Preferred experience in a manufacturing inventory environment
  • Aptitude for counting and inventory management
  • Must have basic computer skills with a proficiency in Excel and Outlook
  • Must be able to accurately type 30 wpm
  • Must have the ability to analyze data
  • Must have the ability to understand and use an ERP system
  • Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Required to have fork-lift training
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and properly, including manual hand jack, fork truck, scale and shipping equipment
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Possess skills such as effective time management, good communication, organizational and attention to details

Physical demands and work environment:

  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. several times a day
  • Must wear steel toe safety shoes
  • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours a day
  • Must be able to use a three-foot stepladder with handrails to place packages/parts on upper stock room shelves
  • The stockroom can be a noisy and dusty environment at times

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
