Job Description
Job Duties:
- In consultation with the Assistant Vice President for Development Operations and Alumni Relations, manage a comprehensive plan to steward donors encompassing, but not limited to:
- Establishing or refining policies and procedures to ensure the efficient execution of a robust stewardship program
- Maintaining a calendar of strategic outreach to major gifts donors and Trustees in collaboration with Major Gift Officers, VP for Institutional Advancement and the Office of the President;
- Drafting and production of donor-related congratulatory and sympathy correspondence;
- Maintaining protocols for and executing timely acknowledgment of all gifts;
- Managing pledge reminders in collaboration with major gift officers and the VP for Institutional Advancement
- Managing the production of donor rolls for publications;
- Monitor gift entry to ensure that the processing, and receipting/acknowledgment of all gifts are performed in an accurate and timely fashion;
- Ensure stewardship efforts are accurately recorded in the Raiser’s Edge database;
- Manage the planned giving society, and develop and execute activities and communications with members;
- Create and update materials for individual donor-funded scholarship reports, and assist with collecting materials and information for foundation-funded scholarship reports;
- Organize and maintain files for donor-established funds;
- In collaboration with the Director of Alumni and Family Engagement, create opportunities to engage students in stewardship activities;
- Participate in the planning and execution of all events produced by Institutional Advancement; and
- Other related duties as assigned.
Hourly rate: $50.00
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5 years experience in development or customer service-related work
- Exceptional customer service and telephone skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office products and Google suite
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM
- Strong customer service / interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze and solve problems
- Good organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle stress and pressure with a pleasant and friendly style
- Willingness to work extra hours if needed, sometimes with little advance notice
- Knowledge of diverse groups, experience working with a multicultural workforce, and sensitivity and appreciation to cultural differences is required
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills; ability to multi-task while remaining goal-focused
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, meet deadlines, and produce quality, detail-oriented work
- Respect the confidentiality of the information that the Office of Institutional Advancement works with on a daily basis
This position is a hybrid and part-time position.
