We are recruiting to fill one full-time Dermatology Technician/Certified Medical Assistant vacancy. Hours may vary depending on Provider schedules, but generally range between 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. DESCRIPTIVE SUMMARY
Sterile Processing Technician responsibilities include but are not limited to: Sterilizes, cleans, wraps, stores and distributes supplies, instruments, and equipment used in patient care according to department standards, policies and procedures. Responsible for maintaining Sterile Processing equipment manuals, instrument instructions for use, Sterile Processing standards of practice, and sterilization/disinfection documentation/records/logs, as required for Infection Control and other regulatory standards. Utilizes instrument tracking system to update set lists, upload pictures, and create/add new sets as needed. Responsible for all QC's and monthly cleaning of autoclave, distiller, piccolo and other equipment as required. Responsible for maintaining biopsy bags as well as biopsy and surgery syringe stock.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensures that all sterilizers, instrument washers, equipment is maintained in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
- Assists in education, training and competencies of staff to perform limited duties in the Sterile Processing/decontamination work areas.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
- Cross train in other departments as needed.
- Performs all duties and services in full compliance with North Idaho Dermatology Core Values.
