We are looking to fill a Full Time (40 hours a week) Sterile Processing Technician III position at Saxony Hospital.
Sterile Processing Technician III complete the following tasks: Cleans, wraps, sterilizes, stores and distributes equipment, supplies and instruments used in patient care. They assist area clinical staff by using specialized knowledge in surgical instrumentation and procedures to prepare for surgical cases. They provide technical guidance to others involved in the assembly of instrumentation and preparation of case carts. They train collogues on various skills and task. They act as a resource and mentor to their colleagues with less experience. The Sterile Processing Technician III are a crucial role to the hospital team.
Candidates are required to have one National Certification (CRCST,CSPDT,CFER or CST) AND a second National Certification related to central service or Sterile Processing (Examples: CIS; CSIP; CFER; CST; CHMM; CHL). You are encouraged to upload these certifications to your application.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Requires one national certification (CRCST,CSPDT,CFER or CST) and a second national certification related to central service or Sterile Processing (Examples: CIS; CSIP; CFER; CST; CHMM; CHL).
- Requires 24 CE credits annually that focus on information and advancement related to the CS field and be of a technical nature.
- Must maintain current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist obtained from the NBSTSA if in a hybrid OR/SPD role.
- May require Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
- Requires demonstration of expert knowledge and skills identified as necessary to function as a Tech III.
- Requires knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Requires advanced preceptor skills and experience in mentoring and coaching.
- Requires basic computer skills.
- Strong knowledge of Endo instrumentation function and maintenance is preferred.
- Requires some relevant experience in a healthcare environment.
