Position description
Responsible for cleaning, disinfection, preparation, processing and distribution of sterile and non-sterile medical supplies and equipment. Performs technical details according to written policies and procedures. Maintains expertise in all aspects of area activities. Monitors quality activities and the physical environment. Participates in continuous improvement processes. Completes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Prefer two years of experience in the handling and sterilization processing of surgical/medical/dental instrumentation within the past four years, or vocational certificate as Central Service Technician or Patient Care Assistant within the last two years. Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) Certification as a Central Processing Technician (CRCST) within 18 months of hire. Must be 18 years of age prior to start date. Valid Driver's License may be required.
Additional qualifications
Will be required to stand and walk all of the scheduled shifts. The occasional pushing/lifting of up to 25 pounds or more.
License or certification
