We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness, sterilization, and safe handling of medical equipment and instruments. Your expertise and adherence to strict protocols will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and infection control. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Here's what you'll do (partial list of responsibilities)
- Functions as an Instrument Processing Technician under the direction of the Clinical Leader/Registered Nurse.
- Cleans and/or disinfects instruments and equipment after use and returns it to the proper area, in appropriate sequence, for storage and/or processing.
- Differentiates sterilization and disinfection methods required for specific instruments and equipment.
- Completes all documentation to ensure the availability of accurate and up to date information in accordance with established standards.
- Maintains area/department in an orderly/organized fashion.
- Assists teammates with daily preparation for current and future facility schedules (pulling cases and assembling supplies) as assigned.
- May act as scrub technician if experienced and needed in operating rooms or procedure rooms.
- Assists in room turnover when needed and as assigned.
- Adheres to established facility safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Practices infection control and standard precautions as instructed or trained.

Here's what you need to be a successful Certified Sterile Processing Technician candidate:
- Knowledge of sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and maintenance and care of instruments and equipment.
- Knowledge of standards and engages in practices and procedures of sterile technique.
- Demonstrates ability to understand and use sterilizers, high-level disinfectors, instrument washers, and other designated processors.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (IAHCSMM and CBSPD)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Prior relevant experience in a health care environment
- Proven commitment to excellent attendance
- Proven experience working in a team
- The ability to obtain references
