POSITION SUMMARY
- Sterile processing technicians are health professionals who are an integral part of the team of medical practitioners providing surgical and medical care to patients. Sterile processing technicians are responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly and processing of instruments and instrument sets in compliance with hospital policy and AAMI standards. Sterile processing technicians practice infection control and quality assurance to provide sterile instrumentation, supplies and equipment to surgery, OB/GYN, Emergency Department, Medical/Surgical Units, Wound Care and In-House Physician Practices.

QUALIFICATION
- EDUCATION:
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Training as a SPD or OR Tech or comparable experience preferred.
- EXPERIENCE/SKILL SETS:
- Recent experience in hospital SPD or Operating Room preferred.
- LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION(S):
- CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification preferred
