Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary:

Sterile compounding pharmacist technician is responsible for compounding low, medium and high-risk sterile products in a clean room environment.

Job Activities andResponsibilities:

Sterile compounder must have knowledge of and follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures.

Sterile compounding includes but is not limited to injections, ophthalmias and inhalation solutions.

Position requires close attention to detail. Standards for strength, quality, purity, integrity, sterility, and endotoxin content must be consistently met. Sterile compounder will also monitor inventory levels for re-order of low inventory or expiring chemicals.

Daily and monthly cleaning performed using appropriate disinfectants and techniques. Environmental monitoring and validation testing performed according to policies and procedures. Technicians work under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Minimum qualifications:

Georgia-registered Pharmacy Technician with formal training in Sterile Compounding or equivalent experience.

Schedule Requirements: 3x12 hour shifts 7am-7pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Physical requirements: Position requires good hand-eye coordination and the ability to lift up to fifty pounds regularly.

Reports to: Pharmacist-in-charge.

Appearance: Scrubs and appropriate PPE required. Long hair should be pulled back and cosmetics and visible jewelry removed.
