Position:

Help us to give all children an opportunity to build a thirst for knowledge. We are seeking a STEM Instructor to teach Snapology programs for kids ages 4-12. We are hiring instructors to support our programming at our new dedicated classroom space located in Gig Harbor. Our weekday schedule will be a mix of pre-school, homeschool, and evening enrichment. Our weekend programs will be a mix of birthday parties and workshops.
Role & Responsibilities:

• Lead groups of up to 16 students through curriculum-guided activities.
• Follow all Snapology lesson plans & activities. Each class/camp is fully prepared for each instructor - no lesson plan creation is needed! All materials, lesson plans, & paid training are provided.
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies
• Adequately prepare for each program by reading the curriculum, watching training videos and participating in face-to-face training sessions
• Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs
• Encourage students & parents to enroll students in future Snapology programs

Qualifications:

• Criminal and Child Clearances must be current or you have the ability to pass a thorough background check to obtain clearances.
• 2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
• Experience working with children with special needs (all ages)
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis

Programs:

• Weekday / Weekend late morning, after-school, and/or evening classes
• Weekend workshops and/or birthday parties
• Summer camps
• Special events, holiday and break workshops

This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, STEM Enrichment Instructor typically work between 6-20 hours per week with full time opportunities during school breaks.
Compensation: $25.00 per hour
