Duties:

The enrollee performs Statistical Assistant duties of a moderately difficult nature for the Forms Processing Group (FPG) in the National Operations Center. In this position, the enrollee aids in the coordination and operation of mail processing equipment operation and participates in the preparation and mailing of reports, questionnaires, processing field crop samples and other associated operations and activities of the Forms Processing Group. Print Mail Center (PMC) and Objective Yield Laboratory (OY). He/she is responsible for subordinate technical work in the field of agricultural statistics, assisting statisticians in collecting, processing, analyzing, editing, keying survey data and updating list sampling data. The enrollee must be able to work independently to assure work is done accurately and on time. • Assists in the initiation of preparation and organization of survey materials. Prepares shipments of outgoing mail to the U.S. Postal Office and /or UPS ensuring that formatting and submission of multi-state label mailings and procedures meet U.S. Postal Service requirements. Reports to Team Leader to reduce the number of problem referrals, while assuring the statistical reliability of the work. 20%
• Establishes and adheres to strict deadlines for mailings of questionnaires, press releases, and publication materials based on requested mail dates required by USDA/NASS. Performs clerical edits of questionnaires differing with each assignment as to subject matter, form, terminology, data units, etc. Reports to Team Leader on inaccuracies and inconsistencies. 20%
• Compiles tabular results and supporting narrative analyses and reviews them for compliance with prescribed statistical procedures. 20%
• Assist with performing sampling frame (list, area, release, other) construction and maintenance duties using online mail and maintenance machines and software. List building involves using the online software search methods to compare the existing list universe with outside list sources. 20%
• Initiates contact with respondents to solicit and/or verify questionnaire information. Responds to contacts from respondents or subject matter specialists to resolve reporting problems of varying complexity. 20%

Qualifications:

AA Degree

• -Knowledge of statistical process and subject matter preferred.
• -Knowledge of postal software preferred.
• -Knowledge of data collection procedures and methodology preferred.
• Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point
• - Adobe Creative/Adobe Pro, Photoshop, MS Publisher
