$5,000 Hiring Bonus (Prorated by FTE)

Overview

In conjunction with the Pat Deegan and Associates (PDA) e-learning modules for Certified Personal Medicine Coaches (CPMC), the CPMC Trainer facilitates, coaches, answers questions, administers quizzes and teaches clinicians the CPMC curriculum and materials. Each CPMC training course is 12 weeks. In addition to providing CPMC trainings, this positions dedicates approximately half of its time to conducting fidelity reviews for the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model of Supported Employment (SE) and Supported Education (SEd). Statewide travel is required.

Responsibilities

CPMC Trainer Core Duties (approximately 60%):

  • Provide CPMC Trainings to mental health clinicians statewide.
  • Set up cohorts of 10-12 CPMC trainees. The number of cohorts running concurrently will be based on demand and availability of co-facilitators from OSECE and OCEACT staff. All OSECE and OCEACT staff are trained CPMCs and can co-facilitate.
  • Recruit CPMC trainees. Conduct informational meetings at peer-run programs, community mental health programs, NAMI, behavioral health residential care providers, and other stakeholder organizations to present Personal Medicine and its role in recovery oriented and person centered care.
  • Assist CPMC trainees to register with PDA to access the on-line learning modules.
  • Conduct live coaching calls to accompany on-line learning approximately six times (every other week) over the 12 week CPMC course.
  • Utilize Trello CPMC training management tool to document weekly to-do’s, administer and score quizzes and track trainee progress toward meeting certification requirements.
  • Grade quizzes and final exams for certification.

Fidelity Reviewer Core Duties (approximately 40%):

  • Conduct all aspects of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Supported Employment (SE) or Supported Education (SEd) fidelity reviews in collaboration with OSECE staff, including chart reviews, attending team meetings, evaluating team functioning, interviewing staff, completing fidelity ratings, writing reports, discussing results and developing action plans.
  • Write fidelity review reports within 30 days of completing a fidelity review and provide report to the Oregon Health Authority, community mental health agency and review reports in meetings to discuss fidelity findings.
  • Create technical assistance plans in partnership with SE programs to help them achieve fidelity benchmarks and meet Oregon Administrative Rule requirements for SE program operations, which may include 90 day fidelity re-reviews.

This position requires travel within the state on a regular basis to community mental health programs. Some out of state travel is required for participation in the National IPS Center’s collaborative trainings.

Participate in regular online or in person meetings or conference calls with OSECE and OCEACT team members, community mental health agency staff, Coordinated Care Organizations (CCOs) and the Oregon Health Authority (OHA).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field is required. Strong recovery orientation required. Prior experience as a supported employment or supported education specialist preferred. Prior experience providing training in mental health evidence-based practices preferred.

Ability to effectively work with people and build connection. Strong recovery orientation. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and oral communication with tact, diplomacy, and/or authority when necessary. Ability to write and edit effectively; good organizational skills, able to meet deadlines, self-starter, effective public speaker. Appreciation of the importance of following evidence based practice guidelines.

The candidate must pass state-required background and DMV checks, possess a valid driver's license, have an excellent driving record, and have the ability to drive between sites throughout Oregon. Occasional national travel.
