POSITION SUMMARY
This position is dedicated to managing statewide strategies and programs in accordance with the operational policies of the Florida State Alliance of YMCAs Foundation. The primary objective is to increase the reach and effectiveness of youth and teen programming across Florida YMCA through civic engagement and Youth in Government. They will oversee the day-to-day administration and data collection of our teen initiatives and
statewide events. Responsibilities extend to the coordination of events for YMCA and the recruitment of school chapters/clubs throughout the state.
At the core of our mission is the uplifting of the youth voice, aiming to cultivate leadership and life skills among middle and high school students. Through programs promoting active citizenship, responsibility, and positive change, we strive to empower youth to realize their full potential within their local communities. As a member of the Social Impact Team, they will work to contribute to the promotion of an inclusive environment. This role will also support the Florida State Alliance of YMCAs in the planning and coordination of YMCA training. This collaborative effort aligns with our commitment to operational excellence while fostering a sense of unity and equality within our community development initiatives. They will report to the State Director, Civic Leadership at the Florida Alliance of the YMCAs and is a member of the Alliance Leadership Team.
CORE AND STRATEGIC FUNCTIONS
-High-Quality Programs, and Services
● Works towards the overall growth and health of Teen Programs (including Youth in Government, Leaders Club, and Teen Achievers) and Florida YMCA teen programming via program development and membership recruitment & retention
● Develops and assists in the distribution of all necessary event and program paperwork and forms, including registration materials and data.
● Assists in ensuring proper and timely registration and collection of all paperwork and fees.
● Manages communication with students and parents via our website, social media channels, newsletters, email, etc., and monitors the program hotline
● Creates and updates student-facing curriculum, guidelines, manuals, etc.
● Develop an alumni network from programs across the Y movement.
-Staff and Volunteer Management
● Responsible for recruiting and development of volunteers, youth advisory board members, and student leaders.
● Assists with delivering year-round youth and teen programming virtually.
● Assists in recruitment, training, communication, and support of program advisors across Florida.
-Finance
● Provides budget input to the State Director and VP.
● Manages all program-related expenses and revenue.
-Community Development/Advocacy
● Works with Florida State Alliance of YMCAs staff on the education of policymakers and stakeholders about the Florida YMCA Youth In Government program and other YMCA programs
● Represent and promote the YMCA in the local community and develop positive working relationships with partners.
● Works to adapt, develop, and improve programs to accommodate and facilitate growth, membership expansion, and long-term YMCA & community engagement.
-Financial Development
● Assist in the collection of data and narratives to compellingly communicate the impact of programs on students.
● Assists with fundraising and annual campaign efforts.
● Organize and conduct community support campaign efforts in close harmony with staff/volunteers, and alumni and in accordance with the standards of the Alliance.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
● Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
● Candidates should possess strong leadership, supervision, and interpersonal skills, with a proven record of achieving results in collaboration with others; building successful teams; and mentoring professionals and students.
● Candidates should also have experience working within diverse groups and possess an understanding of how to create culturally inclusive and engaging environments.
● Three years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency required.
● Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
● Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
● Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
● Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
● Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations. Strong writing, verbal, and presentation skills.
