The SALT Supervisor in our State and Local Tax practice will manage a variety of projects related to our clients' corporate income/franchise tax needs, and will be responsible for the following:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interact with clients demonstrating a deep knowledge of state and local income tax compliance and strategies, assist in identifying client issues and conflicts; proactively communicate solution options to clients;
Demonstrate use of compliance software;
Create and/or review multi-state Apportionment Schedules for optimization and tax return purposes;
Identify, design, and implement tax planning strategies to minimize taxes and reduce tax compliance burdens;
Assist with the preparation and review of Nexus Studies;
Update the firm's apportionment schedule templates and other multi-state charts on an annual basis;
Draft technical memoranda, sales sourcing, and nexus memoranda;
Monitor changes in state laws, including changes in apportionment formulas, sales factor sourcing rules, combined versus separate states, consolidated elections, water's-edge and worldwide elections, state DRDs, PTET and state rates.

Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related required
Relevant advanced degree (MST, JD) highly preferred
CPA, JD or EA certification highly preferred or actively in progress
3+ years of technical tax experience in public accounting, or related field
Demonstrated understanding and experience in multi-state tax issues with an understanding of all states' tax schemes, including differing sourcing rules and the mechanics of each states' income and franchise tax statutes.
Gross receipts, sales/use tax and other indirect tax experience is a plus.
Self-starter with the initiative to seek out opportunities and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, high pressure environment;
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing both internally and externally;
Excellent presentation skills with the ability to convey technical information to a range of audiences in a convincing manner;
Ability to work under pressure in stressful circumstances and deescalate situations;
Proficient use of applicable technology and research tools.
We are looking for a candidate to work full time. Normal hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with increased hours during our peak season: January through April and August through October. These periods require increasing normal weekly hours, which may include weekends.
