Starz Intern, Content Insights (Santa Monica)

The STARZ Content Insights group is a team of industry experts with backgrounds in linear, digital, and streaming data analytics, content strategy, and data engineering who serve as in-house advisers to key stakeholders and senior leadership on strategic decisions for STARZ content. We are passionate about original programming and movies, and help create the narrative around content consumption as well as keep key stakeholders informed about the competitive landscape, reporting on trends and providing actionable competitive insights. The Content Insights team collaborates closely with programming, planning, acquisition, affiliate and international executives across the company.

The Intern of Content Insights will be working with the STARZ Content Insights team to help guide the company's global OTT expansion in content strategy through data analytics and business intelligence initiatives. Projects the intern will work on include: tracking and analysis of the competitive landscape on linear and streaming platforms, international performance for series on STARZPLAY, an introduction to Nielsen reporting, and experience with data queries using SQL. The intern will also support the Content Insights team to create PowerPoint presentations that provide in-depth analysis on Starz content performance.

• Support Content Insights team in tracking competitive brands and reporting findings and/or trends focused on digital and streaming platforms, both for the US and international territories
• Help track and analyze content performance demographics
• Support team in creation of PowerPoint presentations and/or Tableau dashboards that provide a visual narrative and actionable insights for Starz programming and the broader content landscape

• Basic analytical skills with high proficiency in Excel; SQL skills preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint
• Basic data visualization skills with a strong preference towards Tableau
• Strong communications skills, including the abilities to translate complex customer data into meaningful insights
• A basic understanding of the TV/Film landscape and interest/passion for a variety of content
• Statistical background a significant plus (but not required)
• Enrolled in B.A. or B.S. programs in relevant fields such as Communications/ Business Communications, Marketing, and/or technical fields such as Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Economics

The Lionsgate and Starz Internship Program is designed to identify, recruit, and develop a diverse group of students that will gain meaningful educational experiences, professional growth, and career opportunities.

The Lionsgate and Starz Summer 2024 Internship program dates are: June 11th-August 16th, 2024.

All interns are required to attend orientation on Tuesday, June 11th, 2024.

• Interns must not work more than 36 hours per week
• Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree
• Interns must be current rising juniors through recent grads (within 6 months of internship start date)
• Graduate students are eligible to apply
• Interns must be available to work for the entire length of the program
• All internships are paid
• Most internship positions will require working 4 days in office
