Starbucks Assistant Manager at The Read House Hotel

The Starbucks, located at the beautiful Read House Hotel, is seeking an Assistant Manager to assist in overseeing the operation and ensuring the store meets both Starbucks and Read House standards.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As the Starbucks Assistant Manager, you will ensure The Read House Starbucks establishment meets Starbucks standards as well as The Read House processes and procedures. You will lead by example and supervise the daily shift operations of the outlet, promote cooperation among the staff, and maintain high service and sanitation standards. You will reports to the Starbucks Manager and may collaborate with the Starbucks Regional Manager.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily shift operations of the outlet; assign and coordinate work of staff to promote efficiency of operations; maintain service and sanitation standards in all areas of the restaurant
  • Contribute toward profitability through seeking opportunities to enhance sales
  • Effectively manage the inventory, cost of goods control as well as labor costs
  • Ensure entire cash handling and register functions are performed accurately and consistently
  • Ensure appropriate types and quantity of supplies, materials and merchandise are suitably ordered and stocked; submit product orders as needed or requested
  • Convey new product information and details to Leads and Baristas
  • Expect as well as encourage complete participation of employees to develop store goals plus develop plans
  • Abide by all company and state guidelines regarding safe food handling; ensure compliance with all food and beverage policies, standards, and procedures by staff
  • Inspect food prep area and kitchen utensils and equipment to ensure sanitary standards are met
  • Requisition and inspect food, supplies, and equipment to maintain stock levels and ensure standards of quality are met
  • Train and prepare Leads and Baristas to demonstrate entire Starbucks client service standards and operating standards
  • Ensure staff members are in compliance with both company and Starbucks appearance standards
  • Support and assist the staff with daily duties and responsibilities in order to maintain the highest level of guest satisfaction
  • Inform the Starbucks Manager of any personnel or operational concerns or issues within the department
  • Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance with the ability to work a flexible schedule which may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays when business requires

Job Requirements

Education/ Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One to two years prior food and beverage supervisory or management experience required
  • Prior hotel food and beverage and/or coffee outlet experience required
  • Prior Starbucks supervisor or management experience preferred

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills with guests, team members, and management
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Proficiency in restaurant POS, reservation, and/or inventory applications
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Ability to work efficiently with strong attention to detail
  • Promote cooperation to work among team members and others

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 50 pounds
  • Position self in order to obtain necessary supplies and efficiently clean assigned areas
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a high-demand, fast-paced environment with changing variables

Work Environment:

  • The work environment includes high guest contact; may involve varying conditions and circumstances with guests, staff, visitors, etc.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
  • This position requires the ability to work in temperatures of varying degrees
